Currently, international students are not able to obtain an M-1 (Vocational Student) visa for training at MATA because MATA is not a certified school in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP).

Although MATA is pursuing steps required for SEVP certification, limited resources at the Federal Aviation Administration’s Seattle office, along with COVID-19 restrictions, have caused unforeseeable delays. We will update our progress toward certification as changes occur.

Canadian citizens do not require visas to travel to the U.S. and may apply for training. Contact MATA regarding Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements for flight training in the U.S.
