Myron Davis

Myron was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, but grew up in Columbia, South Carolina.  He graduated from Columbia Bible College with a Bachelor of Biblical Education degree, then attended Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa to attain an aircraft mechanic Airframe and Powerplant rating.

His focus was going into mission aviation, but at this point a tour of duty in the Air Force intervened, as well as getting married.  After his Air Force service, Myron and Martha moved to Portland, Oregon where he attended Western Conservative Baptist Seminary.  God again changed their course, and Myron went back to work on aircraft in the general aviation arena.

In 1976, Myron moved his family to Everett, Washington, where he worked on corporate aircraft for nearly 30 years, with a 4-year stint teaching aviation maintenance at Everett Community College.  His last aviation maintenance employment was taking care of a $20-million baby, a Bombardier Challenger 300 corporate jet.

For years Myron has helped MATA with aircraft maintenance, and in December 2007 was appointed MATA's Chief of Maintenance.  Since his retirement from corporate aviation during summer 2009, he has been able to devote more time and energy to MATA aircraft.  Although there are several young A&P mechanics among MATA's students who "turn the wrench" under Myron's supervision, he still likes getting his hands dirty on our aircraft.

Additionally, Myron has been serving on the MATA Board of Directors since 2003 as the Recording Secretary.  His goal as a Board member is to help MATA in any way possible in the ministry of training men and women to serve Jesus Christ through mission aviation.
